Globe launches OFW pack

GLOBE has launched its new OFW Family Pack, a two-SIM bundle that gives special features and discounts for overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) and their loved ones in the country.
The new OFW Family Pack makes communication easier between millions of OFWs worldwide and their families back home. The pack consists of two SIMs, one roaming SIM for the OFW and the other SIM for the family for P120.
Families can send text messages to their loved ones abroad for only P1 per text, call at P7.50 per minute.
The OFW SIM has a special roaming privilege that allows zero daily maintaining balance while roaming and is also delivered free to Filipinos working abroad.
Aside from the two SIMs, the OFW Family Pack also comes with roaming guide, an international services pamphlet and an Ayala One Card coupon for redeeming the Ayala One Card in all Bank of Philippine Islands branches nationwide.
The OFW Family Pack is being distributed and sold at Globe business centers and at Philippine Overseas Employment Administration and Overseas Workers Welfare Administration offices nationwide.

I purchased an OFW pack and the seller said it will get activated after 3 days of purchase. It’s been a week now and I’m still not getting any connections. It only says Emergency Calls Only. I’ve associated it with different phone companies here in the U.S. but to no avail. Please help.

Im sorry to tell you that Globe Roaming in not impressive. I am a Globe subscriber before and I have hard time in activating its roaming service. Globe is very conservative in providing its service to OFW’s unlike its competitor Smart.
Go for Smart, than Globe when it comes to International Roaming. Thanks.

I think you have to activate the OFW sim with roaming first. They have this info on their website on how to go about it. The zero maintaining balance is only good for a promo period. After Jan 2008, you have to have a daily maintaining balance of P100. I’ve recently bought an OFW sim pack but I still haven’t activated it yet. And perhaps it would be best to use a triband phone especially that each country has its own type of network. I’m not really a technical person but peeps suggest to use a triband cellphone for roaming. You may also visit: http://portal.myglobe.com.ph/portal/Suboverview.do?id=1722&aid=461329

Hello Globe.
Where is your roaming service here in Singapore? I bought an OFW sim card and i loaded P300 worth of credit when i was still in Philippines. Please assist me on activating your services. This is a very big help most especially to my families and friends living in Philippines.

Hi,
My husband is currently japan and we bought the ofw sim pack bundled with 2 family sims 24 hours before his departure here in the philippines, we activated his ofw sim. GROAM ON and send to a number. We then received a confirmation.
Using the other famly sim, I registered him to 0 maintaining balance. but here’s the weird thing. you have to maintain atleast 25 to send txt message, mst have atleast 100 to be able to reload and check balance. atleast 80 to receive a cal.. so, where’s the 0 maintaining balance there?
but the service is ok. he receives and sends txt messages and vice versa for me. u have to send ur txt in this format +639xxxxxxxxx. at first he wasnt able to receive txt msgs from me, but I receive txt msgs from him. I first tried 09xxxxxxxxx, he didnt receive txt but after using the other format, its okay.
hope this helps.
